Policies and Fees
Fees
The fees for the services are charged on an hourly basis at the rate of $220 per 50 minutes of psychological treatment. Anna Prudovski's professional consultation and Mandy Taylor's psychological treatment session fee is $255.
We also have some sliding scale/reduced-fee spots with our interns. Please call our main number to inquire about the availability.
It is usually recommended to have a longer first session in order for you to have enough time to provide the relevant information, and for the therapist to gather sufficient details of your situation/condition. If you would like to schedule a longer first appointment, please request that at the time of scheduling the first session.
The fee will be set accordingly, depending on the length of the appointment (based on the hourly rate).
Payments are made by e-transfer before the session. Receipts will be produced after the session. In cases where a client is unable to send an e-transfer or when the e-transfer is not received prior to the session, the credit card transaction fees (3.5%) apply.
Extended Health Plans
Most extended health benefits plans cover services provided by Psychologists, Registered Psychotherapists, or Social Workers. Additionally, most plans cover services provided under direct supervision by a Registered Psychologist. Please refer to the booklet or online page outlining your health benefits or talk to your insurance company to find out about your coverage.
Please note that OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) does not cover expenses for psychological treatment, however, it can be claimed as a medical expense on your income tax.
WSIB
Turning Point is a registered provider with the WSIB Community Mental Health Program and provides assessment and treatment to workers who experience mental stress arising in the course of employment. This may include an acute reaction to a sudden and unexpected traumatic event, substantial work-related stressors (e.g. bullying and/or harassment), or a psychological reaction secondary to a work-related physical injury.
If you would like to seek health care for your work-related injury or illness, you must first register a claim with the WSIB.
Cancellations
Cancellations need to be made at least two business days ahead of the scheduled session. Missed appointments or cancellations, made within less than a 2-business-day period will be charged according to the hourly rate.
