Victoria Colaluca, M.Sc., Counsellor
I am an intern therapist and a Master’s of Psychology student at Adler Graduate Professional School. I am also a member of the Canadian Psychologists Association (CPA).
I provide individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults struggling with anxiety and anxiety related disorders (social anxiety, agoraphobia, panic disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) as well as depression.
I treat all OCD themes and presentations, including but not limited to: harm OCD, sensorimotor OCD, religious OCD, moral scrupulosity OCD, relationship OCD, just-right OCD, and suicidal OCD.
I am a passionate mental health advocate committed to destigmatizing mental illness and supporting individuals through their unique mental health journeys.
Drawing from my personal experience with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), I bring a unique perspective to my work. I understand the challenges of facing intrusive thoughts and compulsions, and how these experiences can be both difficult and debilitating. This first-hand knowledge fuels my empathy and dedication to helping others navigate similar struggles.
My approach is rooted in empathy, safety, and respect, aiming to create a supportive environment where clients feel understood and valued. I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) and, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address clients' specific needs and foster their mental well-being.
My goal is to work collaboratively with clients, empowering them to explore their thoughts and feelings, and to developing strategies that can allow them to cope and manage them.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, jogging, yoga, walking my dog, and spending time with my family, friends, and partner.
